Rockbox on Sansa Disk Clip Zip

After my beloved Ipod classic got stolen , I needed another mp3 player with the following features
efficient but relatively cheap.

• micro sd card slot to upgrade and swap songs.
• open source friendly.
• can handle various media files other than well-known mp3 format.
• light-weight and portable.
• doesn't attract much attention such as fancy apple products :/
• plays well with DRM audiobooks (audible specifically ).

 I purchased the Sandisk clip zip 4 Gb..and I like it so far,but i needed more.So , dual booting with Rockbox was my choice, the installation didn't take much time , failed first at linux pc but it went OK on Windows 7 , i guess it has something to do with the drivers or the usb-mode.
Rockbox is full of features and highly customizable (I need to go thru the 128-page manual to get a full picture of i'm missing so far). what i liked most :

• plugins such as calculator, alarm , 
• ability to forward 1-2-5 minutes (not possible on SanDisk OS ).
• support of all sort of playlists .
• support of many media format.
• bookmarks and resume from where left .
• customizable .cfg files for settings editing on pc (can be transferred via usb to the sansa)

 

how powerful is PS3 showtime ?

Since I started using PS3 Showtime about year a half ago),I'm impressed by its awesome performance.Every now and then, the developer -thankfully- is releasing updates to make it more functional and bug-free .
It is known the app utilizes Game API to handle video playback but no information regarding what max bitrate and what specification it's capable of handling smoothly, Today I tried playing 22GB animation remux mkv movie (True HD DTS sound, 30 MB average bitrate) (full mediainfo ) ...to my suprise, the app played the movie flawlessly (played from internal HDD) .. but there was some problem when forwarding >30 sec as the app needs sometime to buffer the huge amount of bitrate ...overall , the app was up to the task and no complain from my side =) ...

i will assume you are root and have full permission to your seedbox, to be able to use rescene we have to use mono framework

4- install mono-development package

download resecen and rescene resampler in any folder, my choice is /usr/bin

extract both of them

how to generate .srr files for every release on your seedbox?
you can manually navigate thru directories but it would be tedious and insulting to the command line
I like to do it this way which is more effecient and eye-pleasing

 # cd downloads; for f in $(find ./ -name '*.sfv');do mono /usr/bin/srr.exe $f; done

this way you will generate .srr file for every release in the directory "downloads"
